New Technology

The 2010 Clarion and Catalina Line Counters will feature the revolutionary new TSC technology. Tension Spool Control (TSC), easily identified by the distinctive red cast control knob on the right side plate, puts tension on the spool while letting line out. This adjustable drag system allows for hands free drops, without having to thumb the spool or apply tension to the gearing. The TSC utilizes a 1-way roller bearing that allows for tension free retrievals.

Makaira - The New Revolutionary Two-Speed Lever Drag from Okuma

The flagship of the Okuma product line, Makaira derives its name from the genus name of marlin and billfish, representing ultimate strength, power and endurance. The platform of the Makaira series was designed around what Okuma calls its 4D concept, which incorporates the Design, Drive, Drag and Durability of the overall reel. The Makaira series represents the first Okuma project where Okuma worked jointly with Tiburon Engineering USA, setting out to build the ultimate game reel.

 

Crossover Spinning Trio

Innovation at its freshest, the new Trio spinning reels from Okuma feature a unique crossover construction. Okuma took the best from aluminum construction and lightweight graphite materials and created a distinctive new concept in reel design.
The solid one-piece stamped aluminum reel stem and rotor arm are paired with lightweight graphite side plates and a rotor housing which provides strength where needed, and weight savings where possible. The Trio spool construction utilizes a multi-piece construction, housing the drag system in an Aluminum Drag Chamber for added stability and smoothness, while utilizing a lightweight graphite housing for weight reduction and distinctive styling.
