BY SPECIES
Dorado (also called Dolphin or Mahi Mahi) can be caught on a wide variety of tackle. Oftentimes, gear decisions are determined by the species that will surround encounters with dorado, rather than dorado as the primary target. The ultimate dorado setup would consist of a conventional or spinning reel that holds 300 yards of 20-pound line or 250 yards of 30-pound. Rods in 6-1/2 to 7-feet in length for 20- to 30-pound line will balance well with all but the very largest dorado.
Cortez Rods

Standing out with beautiful design and performance at an entry-level MSRP are Cortez saltwater rods. Constructed to deliver exceptional and highly affordable performance to all anglers, the smart design of Cortez rods begins with durable carbon and glass blanks. The materials are precisely combined through the blank to maintain a super light feel and comfortable handling, backed by exceptional power and durability. The moderate/fast tapers cast fluidly, while placing a lot of lifting power in the hands of the angler. Double-footed stainless steel guides and cleanly executed EVA grips with cushioned-hood reel seats complete these stunning models.

Andros Single Speed

The Okuma Andros two-speed reels were the first designed and constructed from the ground up specifically for 50-pound braided line in big game applications. Their advanced construction continues to grow fans in awe of the power available from such a small platform. New Andros single speed reels make Andros technology more accessible to anglers, and with the addition of a roller bearing for instant anti-reverse; the reel becomes a pure jigging performer.

With dual anti-reverse that includes mechanical and roller bearing systems, the Andros single speed eliminates all handle back play, an especially important feature for those fishing high-speed vertical jigs. For the most common grade of offshore fish anglers commonly encounter, Andros single speed reels provide all the cranking power anglers will ever need.

Azores
OKuma Azores spinning reels are the result of a multi-year engineering review that achieves new levels of strength and stability. Azores begin with proven power features including die-cast aluminum body, side plate and rotor, machine cut pinion gear and the Okuma Dual Force Drag system that churns out up to 44-pounds of max drag. But within the interior is where Azores gains massive separation from competitors. Dual anti-reverse systems, massive oversized spool shaft and grease-packed stainless steel bearings deliver incredible strength while 3-piece carbon fiber Mechanical Stabilization System stops electrolysis in its tracks.
